Love is in the air

We are not sure where the days have gone but we some how missed out on last weeks blog! Riley and Kyle have had a fun couple weeks! Kyle found and fought another bug which caused his temp to reach 103.8 but smiled through it all like usual! Kyle's new favorite past time is to run circles though the house yelling "Fly"! It is too cute!!
Riley informed us last week that she has a boy friend from school, Andrew. This is the 1st boyfriend that she has had that Tracy & Eric have not known and we definitely are not ready for this! LOL!
The kids had playgroup at the inflatable palace this week and can't wait to go back! We also spent a lot of time outside playing, biking, chalk, bubbles... etc.... We love SPRING! And don't for get the Leprechauns! St. Patricks Day came with tons of fun and mischief from the leprechauns! They left green foot prints all over the kitchen windows and some how forgot a pile of chocolate gold which Riley and Kyle happily inhaled! We also spent both of the last 2 Saturday evenings with the Lamberts having pizza and playing. All four kids play so well and the adults get to sit! Its Wonderful! We also had a fun sleep over with Lexa last weekend. Lexa informed me that she and Riley were going to stay up all night long. I told her that was fine as long as they didn't talk or get out of bed... they were happy with that compromise!
And most importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!! We hope you had a great day (tomorrow) and can't wait to see you! The kids LOVED making your present, so we hope it arrived and that you love it as much as they do!
Enjoy the few pix taken in the last 2 weeks!
Pizza and icecream with the Lamberts - impressive table of kiddos!

Summer Snow

This has been a week of weather! The beginning of the week was spent in deep snow, with many attempts at making snowmen and lots of sledding... but the end of the week we were spending every minute outside, including all meals and all play, wearing shorts and t-shirts!

As it turns our, our back yard hill is a FUN sledding hill and as the kids grow up, we are going to have to find a way to avoid smashing into the fence! Both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings were spent sledding after work, but the snow didn't last and by the end of the week we were having fun outside in 80 degree weather!

Rileys social calendar was booked this weekend with 2 fabulous bday parties and dance class. We also hosted playgroup on Friday and crashed 2 different cul-de-sac's for bike riding and outdoor play. Grandma and Papa also stayed with us 2 nights on their way back from their latest Florida and Hilton Head trip. We are so lucky to have Grandma, Papa, and Bebe who are all so willing to hang with Kyle during Riley's social season!! Thank you All!

Enjoy the pix!

Playgroup buddies - the big kids were playing so well together, the moms forgot all about them!

Molly's 5th birthday party! It was a tea party with a Fairy God Mother who hosted (she was on wife swap a while back) The girls got to dress up, have a real tea party with magical tea and finger food, a delicious cake, and entrance into a magical tea and saucer! Riley doesn't dress ups but she did wear a boa for this pix!!

Ri with a silly face, including a "tea" (fruit punch) mustache!

John's 4th bday party! At the pool! Riley jumped in to the pool over and over for a solid hour! She drenched anyone in a 5 foot radius and had soooo much fun!

Kyle at the park - 80 degrees! and it was only 30 degrees 5 days ago!

Snow Days!

The past two weeks have been... long but the Surratts are on the mend! Kyle is fully recovered from his surgery and eating us out of house and home! It appears that now that he can swallow, he wants to try any and all food near him! Kyle had two solid weeks of snuggles and LOTs of mama, but the doc said we can go back to "tough love", which means sleeping though the night:-)

Riley and Tracy are both fully recovered from a 24 bug. Unfortunately, we discovered that Riley initially had the bug when she threw up all over the lobby of Romp-n-roll after arriving for a friends birthday party! We know how to make an entrance!! Needless to say, we didn't stay for the party and spent the afternoon reading and watching movies. At one point Tracy turned off the TV to read and Riley said "but Mama, I threw up, I GET to watch movies!" How does she know those are the rules??

Grandma and Papa came to town on their way to Florida and Lexa stayed the night with us that night as well! The kids had a great time being spoiled by all the grandparents and having a fun sleep over! We also celebrated Erics birthday last week! We had a couple really great dinners with the family! Happy Birthday Daddy!!

The girls are still loving dance and each other! We were all in the car the other day and Riley was staring at Lexa after the end of a conversation so Lexa asked why she was looking at her. Riley's response was "Because I love you!"

And of course, lets not forget our wonderful SNOW! 8 inches (and even more with drifts!) This is the first decent amount of snow the kids have ever been in!Riley has had a blast playing in the snow and as expected, she LOVES to sled! Kyle on the other hand hasn't been very happy in the snow but he has time!

Riley in her 1st big storm - Monday morning

Kyle isn't loving the snow as much as his sister! Ok, he started to have some fun on the Lamberts driveway - with mama!
